Giraffe Centre
Get nose-to-nose with endangered Rothschild giraffes in this unique conservation center
Overview
The Giraffe Centre, established in 1979 by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW), is a breeding and conservation program for the endangered Rothschild's giraffe. From a raised feeding platform, visitors can come eye-to-eye with these gentle giants, hand-feeding them specially prepared pellets while learning about giraffe conservation efforts in Kenya.
"Some lucky visitors have been known to get a giraffe kiss! The centre is also a favorite outing for Kenya's schoolchildren, adding to the lively atmosphere."
The Experience
At the Giraffe Centre, you'll climb the feeding tower and experience the thrill of hand-feeding these magnificent creatures. The center's education program teaches visitors about giraffe conservation and the importance of protecting their natural habitat.
